Let The Earth Tremble! Top Santa Muerte Leader Seeks to Cleanse the Cult

In response to recent acts of aggression from religious rivals, Mexico’s top Santa Muerte temple head, Enriqueta Vargas of Tultitlan, spoke exclusively to Skeleton Saint about her role in the cult of Saint Death and her intention “to cleanse” the cult of what she regards as profiteers and charlatans….

Let me make it very clear that the position in which “Santa Muerte International” currently finds itself is due to work, effort, love and struggle. I have never stepped on anyone in order to climb to the top of the cult, and I’ll clarify that it’s called “Santa Muerte International” because it’s known in almost all the world, and not because I’m making it up. People have come as far away as Japan to interview me. If my Saint and my son open doors for me and have sent their emissaries to take care of me and help me it’s because I don’t profit from or denigrate her image.

Tonight some kind of sorcerer was sent to my home to do some supposed ritual. And you know what? To the point that I take pride with my Santa Muerte for being the mother of “the Panther,” the only Santa Muertero in Mexico who’s moved on to the next dimension, the ones who should watch their backs now are those who sent the sorcerer my way because if it’s true that I don’t do black magic it’s also true that I have the gift of returning evil to its sender. And the many devotees that I have here as friends can corroborate it. I said I’m going to cleanse the cult and that’s what I’m going to do. This Thursday I will expose the main person who’s doing evil, so let the earth tremble!

  1. oh and, David Metcalfe if I remember correctly thought enough of Hien’s book to add it to his suggested reading list online but I’ve forgotten where his list is . anyway.. There are quote unquote “evil” practices that Hien describes but I would suggest another book called Sinister Yogis (that aren’t very Sinister) by David Gordon White which would suggest the practices he designates as evil in that book are actually more common than he would like to admit, probably does them himself, and are predominantly mutual and not parasitic . You’re just fear mongering and spreading hate and I would wish you wouldn’t do that.

  2. I don’t know if my other comment went through or not but it had to do with a book by Hien Van Nguyen called Journey Of A Healer: Mediums And Sorcerers Of South Viet Nam . It’s in the Library of Congress collection, and I loaned it via inter library loans from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax . It’s one of the most important works on far eastern religion ever made available to the public and published, on par with the significance of someone like Bruce Lee who was largely responsible for bringing martial arts training to the western world . His book is unparalleled and must be read by everyone with an interest in far east asian spirituality . Another important author is Dr. Wilhelm Reich who theorized and I believe and would assert personally from my own experience that he is right on this.. that negative emotions draw your energy inwards, causing pain, and only positive emotions that are compassionate can be propelled and radiate outwards . According to Reich, and I believe him emphatically on some things, harmful sorcery is impossible. Sorcery requires a connection to the spirit world , is noetic, and cannot be harmful . There are some practices that Hien calls evil in his book, that I would suggest are more common than he makes them out to be and probably does them himself.. anyway.. that David Gordon White in his book titled Sinister Yogis , about not particularly very sinister yogis, successfully argues with supporting documentation that those practices someone like Hien would deem parasitic are more commonly or exclusively mutual instead . I also recommend studying just about any book not written by Laurel Kendall (she’s kind of an airhead) on Korean shamanism. The scholarship on Korean shamanism is relatively unparalleled as far as east asian spiritual beliefs , or any spiritual beliefs for that matter.. they shed light on Christianity and have contributed to Christian worship in pioneering ways (through the kind of yoga in White’s book, predominantly).. I’m thinking of groups like the moonies and megachurches . anyway.. Chongho Kim rips Laurel Kendall apart in his book, it’s called Korean Shamanism: The Cultural Paradox, and is a great book to read along with Hien’s since it is also talks about sorcery and the use of the noetic understanding of consciousness . The power cultivated by the sorcerer is also the increased power to heal. that is the lesson you should take away from Hien’s work.

  3. I learned a lot from Korean shamanism, but from the little available in books I have studied on Vietnamese mediumship and sorcery.. one more lesson I am impelled to impart .

A lot of people when they think of spirit shrines used in asian cultures, they’re probably generally thought of alone . Such as, the ancestral altar used in the home . But, Vietnamese use two shrines . One of them resides in the home, and the other is placed outside, not to some ghosts, or some gods, or now and then, but to all spirits. Their noetic wrath, particularly the pain they feel following the American war in Vietnam, is justified, and to appease them they are placated .

This imparted to me an immensely important lesson about life, and human relationships . It holds lessons that are important for the future of humanity . Vietnam understands this . Sorcery is rooted fundamentally in our capacity to demonstrate compassion to others.

  4. PLEASE FORWARD TO ENRIQUETA:

YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT AND A DUTY TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE.

YOU MUST ACCEPT YOUR OWN DARKNESS BEING A PRIEST OF DEATH THOUGH.

MAKING AN IDOL OUT OF HER AND INVITING THE PUBLIC INTO YOUR TEMPLE TO WORSHIP AND RECEIVE MIRACLES IN HER NAME HAS DRAWN THE ATTENTION OF THOSE WHO WOULD CONTEST YOUR VISION OF HER WILL.

ALL THINGS OF FEAR AND DESIRE SUCH AS HEALING AND CLEANSING WHICH ARE NOT ONLY AND JUST COMMUNION WITH THE TRUE SELF ARE BLACK.

THIS IS MORE TO DO WITH YOUR OWN DEEPER INITIATION THAN IT DOES TO DO WITH TERRITORY OR ALLIANCES.

    GO BEYOND THE IMAGES.

GO BEYOND YOUR FEAR AND DESIRE WITH ONLY THE WILL OF GOD’S JUSTICE IN YOUR HEART AND THE ENEMY WILL BE NEUTRALIZED.

I PRAY YOU VICTORY AND PEACE IN LIFE THROUGH DEATH.

    AUMGN YES.
